Girls' High School, Kandy was established on a solid foundation of truth, honesty and dedication to withstand the assaults of time and be buffered by the turbulent events of history. Now, this majestic institution has bravely sailed forth in to the 21st century.

It has proved its worth and given its best to our beloved motherland and to the world. May 15th 1879 was founders day, the brainchild of Rev.and Mrs. Samuel Langdon a well known educationist of the day who took 10 students under their wings to cherish and mould in to worthy citizens of this land. Today with a student population of over 4000 we steadily march on inculcating the ideas of racial and religious harmony which is the need of the hour.

We at High School, live as one family, the students who are mostly scholarship Holders have come from every corner of this Island and from every social strata. They are provided with the opportunity to reach great heights academically.
