Past events



OGA Activities for year 2011/2012

1. Office Complex refurbishment was concluded with new partitioning, painting, tiling and furnishing. 

2. Home Garden rubble wall along the primary entrance was completed with landscaping.

3. Started the construction work of the sick room.

4. A new attire for the eastern band (for 43 members) was donated by the OGA.

5. 6 Nos Box Fans were gifted for the Main Office Complex. 

6. Four students were provided with scholarships under the needy student project.

7. Trainers’ fee for the Shakespeare Drama Competition was funded by the OGA.

8. Hosted a personal development program for the A/L students.

9. Purchase of Trumpet and Euphonium for the Western Band.

10. Four students who took part in International tours to Australia, Thailand, and Romania were given Rs 10,000/- each as their tour expenses.

11. Two netball players who went on a tour to Malaysia were given Rs 10,000/= in December 2011.



12. Assisted the school sports unit with their needs for the game (Stop watches).



13. Sponsored the medals for the chess tournament.

14. Contribution for the Negama Siri Sumana Vidyalaya – the OGA contributed a computer and a new printer and 10 ltrs of paint together with English CDs and biscuits for the school children.

15. Donations  were given to two old girls for their medical treatment.

16. Sponsored the provision of refreshments for year one admission ceremony.

17. Participated in the Cancer Awareness Walk.

18. Donation of 40 bed sheets to Kandy Hospital Ward No 33.

19. Hosted a Musical Show "Kanyavi" with Maestro Amerasiri Peiris on 12th November 2011 at St Anthony’s Hall, Katugastota.

20. An Avurudu Pola was held on 1st April 2012 at the school premises.

OGA Activities for year 2010/2011

1. 10 students who took part in a Hockey tournament in Malaysia were given 2500/- each for their tour expenses.
2. Donation for the Kotigalhela Kanitu Vidyalaya – the committee members contributed towards some sports items a gas cooker and a gas cylinder towards this school along with the school donations.

3. Held the Musical show Sandakadapahan by Vishardha Sunil Edirisinghe at the Dharmaraja auditorium on 5th of March 2011, which was a success.

4. Replaced 8 main hall fans to new ones as the old ones were not working.

5. Contributions were made to two students who were affected by the heavy rains in Kandy during October – December. 

6. Contribution towards the first Theravada Buddhist Temple was made by way of selling tickets priced at Rs 100/=.

7. Assisted the school Badminton team with their needs for the game.
